9-Hole Executive Golf - 2nd and 4th Sundays and all Tuesdays

Click Here to Sign Up

Executive golf outings are played on the 2nd and 4th Sundays and all Tuesdays of each month. This is a fun venue to work up to the championship 18-hole courses. People with little or no golfing experience can participate and feel very comfortable. All SGV Club members may participate. These events are played on a variety of executive golf courses that The Villages Tee Time System designates from the requests submitted by the Golf Coordinators.

Normally, a competitive game is played during these outings. There is a $2 prize contribution collected from each participating player. At the after-golf social, winners are determined and prize money is awarded.

Executive Golf events are posted on the Executive Golf sign-up spreadsheet. It shows the event date, sign-up closing date, name of the Golf Coordinator, competitive game, and after-golf social location. Members may participate in the after-golf social even if they do not play golf that day.

A few days prior to closing out the spreadsheet for an event, a sign-up and last-call reminder message is sent to membership. It includes any changes, additional information, etc. Sign-up for executive golf event closes approximately 7 days prior to the event. At that time, the Golf Coordinator locks the sign-up spreadsheet. Requests to be added or cancelled must be sent to the designated Golf Coordinator for the specific golf event.

It is your responsibility to check the SGV website under SGV Golf-Tee Times to determine when and where your tee time is and with whom you are playing. You should make golf cart arrangements within your foursome or rent a golf cart from the closest championship course.

Tee Designation: Women may choose any tee. Men may choose any tee except the forward (green) tees. If men qualify for "Super Senior" status (age 75+) they may also play from the forward tees. Players must use the same tee for the entire round.

Skill Rating: Executive Golf Coordinators use player skill ratings to put together the golf foursomes as fairly and evenly matched as possible for team-scored events. These skill ratings are initially provided by the players when they sign up with the Golf Director. There are 4 skill levels:

           A = Best; B = Good; C = Average; D = Beginner.

For games that are individually scored (Bingo, 1-2-3, Two Best Scores and Inverse Poker), players' scores are recorded. Once a player has recorded 5 scores, those scores are averaged to produce a skill rating according to the current parameters used to determine the "score range" for the 4 ratings. The player's skill rating on the spreadsheet is then changed accordingly. A total of 10 of the most recent scores are recorded and averaged. The oldest score is dropped when a new score is recorded. Averaging continues and a player's skill rating is revised as appropriate.

Maximum Recorded Score: To keep up the pace of play, no player/team may score any hole at more than double par (6 on par 3's, 8 on par 4's).
